| Growth in Myanmar Creates New Opportunities |

| Steel consumption is an indicator of economic growth. The domestic production of steel products in Myanmar was between 150,000 and 200,000 tonnes in 2018, 2.4 million tonnes of steel was imported from other countries. |
|
| The World Steel Association projected the market demand will rise to about 3 million tonnes in 2020 and continue to surge to about 5 million tonnes with an 8% annual growth rate in 2025. There is a big gap between production and demand. With an increase demand for structured steel due to Myanmar’s growth in infrastructure development, the government has initiated several mega-projects such as the Yangon Central Railway Redevelopment Project and the Yangon-Dala Bridge. These activities are expected to increase the demand for high quality and competitively priced steel products. |
